A man decided to get revenge on his brother after he made himself the center of attention at the man’s wedding. He had a strained relationship with him ever since they were children, and the wedding incident was the last straw.
A 35-year-old man had a strained relationship with his brother, Todd, 29. Todd was the youngest of three siblings, as they had a sister named Abby.
Todd always enjoyed being the center of attention. He had a challenging life since birth, seeing as he had been in the ICU for a month after he was born.

Their parents doted on Todd for as long as the man could remember. It was always at the expense of Mark and Abby, and it ultimately led to resentment.
Things started getting worse when Todd met his girlfriend, Lucy. They started trying to out-stage Todd’s siblings by seemingly announcing milestones at special events.

Lucy once revealed that she was pregnant at Abby’s baby shower. This just drove a wedge between the siblings, and things soon became heated.
When the man, Todd’s brother, proposed to his girlfriend, Michelle, he wanted a quiet ceremony. However, Michelle wanted a family-filled celebration.
So, the man obliged and invited his family out of respect. Little did he know, the wedding was going to become a battleground.

Things got awkward when the man’s best man, Jim, stumbled upon a jewelry store receipt that was hanging out of Todd’s pocket. Jim confronted Todd about it, and it led to an argument between the two men.
As Jim was a good friend, he told the man everything. “I told Todd that he was no longer going to be a groomsman because I knew he was going to propose at my wedding,” he revealed.

Ultimately, Todd cried to their parents, which led to another argument. Their parents sided with Todd because he never admitted he was going to propose to Lucy at the wedding.
Still, the man stood his ground and recalled Todd’s past behavior. Rather than arguing some more, their parents asked Todd not to do anything strange at the wedding.
“I warned him that if, as a guest, he’d try anything, I would make him regret it,” the man admitted. He was no longer a groomsman, but he was welcome to attend as a guest.

Their wedding day arrived, and it was time for Michelle’s father-daughter dance. Todd took it as an opportunity to propose to Lucy, finding a way to make everyone look at them instead.
Knowing this was bound to happen, Mark and Jim hired a woman to pretend to be Todd’s mistress. When he proposed to Lucy, the woman claimed she was pregnant with his child.
Drama ensued, leading to a distraught Lucy rejecting Todd while Mark reveled in his revenge. Todd saw the smile on his brother’s face while all of this was happening and he suddenly realized what was going on.

The man never responded to Todd’s calls, nor his parents, until after his honeymoon with Michelle. By then, Lucy had thrown Todd’s things out of their home and denied him access to their child.
Todd was furious, to say the very least. He demanded his brother clear his name from the controversy, yet the man pretended like he didn’t know what Todd was talking about.
Along with a text pretending he didn’t know the woman, the man also sent his brother a screenshot of their wedding bill. He demanded reimbursement for half the wedding costs after he decided to ruin Michelle’s moment with her dad.

While this plan had the green light from Michelle, Abby thinks their brother went too far. Wanting to hear from outsiders, the man sought help on Reddit, where he got a mixed response from people.
“Why do these people even still talk to each other? They would all be better off by just cutting each other out of their lives,” one person wrote. “I mean, I want to say that’s a bit harsh, but it sounds like this was a long time coming,” said another.
“I think it went [too] far when there is a child involved. Poor child already has a terrible father and doesn’t deserve the drama. Your brother, however, deserves it all,” shared a user.
